Background

Partners in Torah San Diego is an independent non- profit organization based in La Jolla, CA. Our Mission is to provide education to those, affiliated or non-affiliated with any Jewish organization, whom are looking to probe a Jewish topic of their choice at any level, in a warm non-judgmental environment. Partners in Torah SD was started in 2014 with a vision to enable San Diego residence to learn together, socialize together, and grow together in order to create a vibrant Jewish Community. Participants customize their learning experience at their own pace, stopping for questions, comments and discussion. Pairs may choose to study: Torah; Prophets; Talmud; Jewish History; Jewish Philosophy or any other subject in which they are interested.
 

The San Diego program is based on the successful Partners in Torah program started by Yeshiva Beth Yehuda in Detroit in the mid-nineties. The program grew to 400 people studying weekly and attendees represented all levels of observance, knowledge, congregations and organizations, transforming the whole Detroit Jewish community by building one relationship at a time.
The program has three primary objectives: build personal knowledge though study; build personal and intellectual relationships between study partners; and build bridges among Jews of all persuasions and organizations in the community though studying as a group. We strive to empower Jews of all backgrounds and affiliations to maximize their potential for a meaningful Jewish life and build an informed, united and timeless San Diego Jewish community. The program is designed to supplement, not replace, learning with a favorite Rabbi at a synagogue or at another venue.
 

Partners in Torah – San Diego is dedicated to strengthening San Diego’s Jewish community by empowering Jews of all backgrounds and affiliations to maximize their potential for a meaningful spiritual life. PiT provides outstanding opportunities for studying and experiencing Judaism's beauty, wisdom and relevance in an inviting and open atmosphere.
